An election day supper will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 4, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1611 Williams Drive. The menu is homemade vegetable beef and chicken noodle soups, chili, bread, dessert (gluten free available) and beverage. Tickets are $10 per person with children ages 4 and under free. Tickets are available from church members or at the door.
First Covenant Church, 201 Ave. H, is offering a free two-hour GriefShare seminar entitled “Surviving the Holidays” from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the church. It is designed to offer support for those who are grieving throughout the holiday season. It will consist of a video, discussion, and support for each other. All are welcome. WEBSTER CITY — For those who like mysteries on Halloween, the Webster City Women’s Club will present two mysteries in which kids and young adults may participate today at the Jane Young House, 629 Elm St., Webster City. These mysteries will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids ages 5 to 8 will use a Halloween color wheel to travel from one clue to the next to finally reveal their treat. “A Haunting in the Village ... What could possibly go wrong???” is 7 to 10 p.m. today at the Fort Museum Frontier Village, 1 Museum Road. Tickets are $5 each, with a family maximum of $20. Children ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
LEHIGH — Lehigh Methodist Church, Lehigh, is holding a Lord’s portion dinner and bake sale from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church. The menu is Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn or beans, salad, pie, fresh baked roll and a drink.
