An election day supper will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1611 Williams Drive. The menu is homemade vegetable beef and chicken noodle soups, chili, bread, dessert (gluten free available) and beverage. Tickets are $10 per person with children ages 4 and under free. Tickets are available from church members or at the door.
The Friends of the Fort Dodge Public Library autumn book sale is Monday through Nov. 8 at the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave. Monday is early entry night from 5 to 7 p.m. The Monday sale is open to non-members for $5. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. There will be bag deals on Friday and Saturday.
First United Methodist, 127 N. 10th St., will host its annual soup supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday. The menu is all you can eat soup. Available soups will be vegetable beef, chili, and minestrone. Dine in and to go options will be available. All proceeds from this event will go toward First UMC funding its youth ministries and public youth events like its annual lock in that hosted 96 kids from the area this past weekend. Ticket prices are $12 for ages 14 and up, $10 for ages 4 to 13 and free for children ages 3 and under.
First Covenant Church, 201 Ave. H, is offering a free two-hour GriefShare seminar entitled “Surviving the Holidays” from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the church. It is designed to offer support for those who are grieving throughout the holiday season. It will consist of a video, discussion, and support for each other. All are welcome. LIVERMORE — Livermore American Legion Otto Field Post 415 is holding a breakfast fundraiser from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 9 in the Livermore Legion basement. The menu is pancakes, eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy for $10 per person.
OTHO — The Otho United Methodist Church is holding its annual pork loin dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today in the church basement. The menu is pork loin, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, baked beans, rolls, pies and drinks. Adult tickets are $12, children ages 5 through 11 are $6, and preschoolers are free. The public is welcome.
