Kendall Young to hold children’s programs

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library Children’s Department will hold a variety of programs in September. Weekly Programs Children’s Mini Makerspace (Family) stop in from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Mondays in September to get creative. This come and go time will offer a variety of craft supplies to make creations on your own or the option of a special craft activity to get you started. WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will hold a variety of teen events throughout September. Teen Lounge — Patrons in sixth through 12th grades are invited from 3:30 to 5 p.m. each Tuesday in September. Join us weekly for special activities, video games, snacks, crafts, board games, and more. This time and place is perfect to hang out with friends and is a come-and-go style event. Singer/pianist Tom Lichter will perform at the Fonda Arts Center on Aug. 30

FONDA — The Fonda Arts Center will host singer/pianist Tom Lichter at 3 p.m. on Aug. 30. Lichter is a graduate of Fonda High School where he was recognized from the onset as one of those who “wears his music like his skin” — a natural. A Newell-area resident, he has been sharing the joy of his talent ever since with audiences of all ages. All this is happening at the Fonda Arts Center on the northwest corner of Fourth and Main Streets in Fonda. Everyone is welcome. As always, admission and refreshments are free; donations are greatly appreciated.

‘Come From Away’ auditions will be held Tuesday and Wednesday

KYL adult programs scheduled Kendall Young Library will hold adult programs throughout the month of August. Adult DIY — Participants can explore the art of flower arranging from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 31. Tyler Burton from Peacock House Flowers will be sharing some tips and tricks for a beautiful arrangement. This is a free event and no sign-up is required. WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will hold a variety of events in August open to youths of all ages (children under 8 years old must have an adult present). Fall programming begins on Friday. Friday Cookies, Scoops, & Books — Drop in Friday at the library. Students can celebrate the first week of school with an afternoon snack and pick up some books for the weekend.
