Catholic Daughters to meet Thursday

Catholic Daughters Court 216 meeting will be held on Thursday at the Corpus Christi Center beginning with Mass at 6 p.m. followed by a special dinner, CDA Sister Ida Burleson’s presentation about life in the Philippines, and a business meeting. Remember to use your invitation card to invite a friend to come with you. Members who would like to attend, please RSVP for dinner by calling Kitty Nilles at 515-206-5496 by Tuesday noon. MANSON — The Manson Meridian Singers are holding a meet and greet at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Lucky 7 Coffee Shop for anyone who might be interested in singing with the group as they prepare for their 55th season. If you love to sing and have been looking for a place to share your talent, the Meridians would love to welcome you. Federated Garden Club to meet

The Fort Dodge Federated Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. on Sept. 15 at the Lion’s Den, 731 Exposition Drive. The club will decorate mini pumpkins with dried flowers. They will be then taken to the Marian Home Care Center to be given to residents. Members are asked to bring scissors and a glue gun. Anyone interested are invited to attend.

Lehigh Methodist to hold Second Sunday Supper

LEHIGH — Lehigh United Methodist Church will hold its Second Sunday Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the church, 386 Spencer Hill St., Lehigh. The menu includes pulled pork sandwich or hot dogs, salad, dessert and drink for a freewill offering. Dine in or carry out. There will also be ice cream.

Tom Lichter will perform at the Fonda Arts Center

FONDA — The Fonda Arts Center will host singer/pianist Tom Lichter at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Lichter is a graduate of Fonda High School where he was recognized from the onset as one of those who “wears his music like his skin” — a natural. A Newell area resident, he has been sharing the joy of his talent ever since with audiences of all ages. All this is happening at the Fonda Arts Center on the northwest corner of Fourth and Main streets in Fonda. Everyone is welcome. As always, free admission, free refreshments; donations greatly appreciated.
