Fort Dodge Public Library to host September DIY program for adults

The Fort Dodge Public Library invites adults to get creative and welcome the fall season with a DIY Wooden Bead Pumpkin craft at 6 p.m. on Monday. Participants will create their own adorable wooden bead pumpkin using beads, twine, greenery, and a stick stem. Attendees can choose their own colors and customize their pumpkin to create a cozy fall decoration to take home. This program is open to adults and will be held at the Fort Dodge Public Library. Brown Bag Briefings at FD Public Library

The Friends of the Fort Dodge Library announce this fall’s installment of the Brown Bag Briefings. They are held at noon every Thursday, beginning Oct. 8, in the meeting room of the Fort Dodge Library, 424 Central Ave. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Water, coffee and cookies will be provided. The briefings last one hour and the public is invited to attend. There is no charge for admission. First UMC to hold rummage/bake sale

First United Methodist Church, 127 N. 10th St., will hold a rummage and bake sale to support missions. The hours are 1 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 8, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 9, and 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 10, when items will be $4 per bag or half price on large items.

Harcourt Library to hold craft workshop

HARCOURT — The Harcourt Public Library will hold a polymer ghost craft workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the library, 106 W. Second St. Participants will mold two ghosts, bake them and then decorate them with decoupage. There is a $5 charge for materials.

PICA to meet Tuesday and Thursday

PICA (Pride In Community Appearance) volunteers will work from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday, meet at the southwest corner of the Fort Dodge Middle School parking lot, 800 N. 32nd St. On Thursday, at Reynolds Park, Third Avenue North and 17th Street.

Lehigh Methodist to hold Second Sunday Supper

LEHIGH — Lehigh United Methodist Church will hold its Second Sunday Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the church, 386 Spencer Hill St., Lehigh. The menu includes pulled pork sandwich or hot dogs, salad, dessert and drink for a freewill offering. Dine in or carry out. There will also be ice cream.
