Marlys Schoon

MANSON — Marlys Schoon, of Manson, will celebrate her 80th birthday on Thursday.

Her family includes Lori and Bill Habben, of Humboldt; Lynn and Patty Schoon, of Palmer; Lisa and Greg Saal, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; and Leanne and Brian Darr, of Manson. She has 10 grandchildren and four great-grandsons. Her husband, Ronald, is deceased.

Marlys Johnson was born Jan. 27, 1942, and grew up in Palmer. She married Ronald Schoon in 1962 in Palmer. They later moved to rural Manson. She worked for the Manson Pro Coop and then The Messenger until she retired.
