Ardyce and Larry Harklau in 1969

Larry and Ardyce Harklau, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.

Their family includes Amy Campero, Katie Harklau, and Sara and Matt Winkel. They have 10 grandchildren.

They were married at Corpus Christi Church on Aug. 30, 1969, and built a home on a acreage west of Fort Dodge. He is a Vietnam veteran with a Purple Heart. He worked at Geo. A. Hormel Co. until the Fort Dodge plant closed, then worked for the cable company before retiring. She has worked at Danny’s Hair Fashions for more than 50 years.
