SAC CITY — Summer fair season is months away, but organizers of the Sac County Fair are already promoting the concert that will wrap up their annual event. Country singer Terri Clark will take the stage at the fair on July 27. She is known for the songs “Better Things To Do,” “Poor, Poor Pitiful Me,” “Girls Lie Too,” “Northern Girl” and “I Just Wanna Be Mad.” She has sold about 5 million albums. Frontier Opera House, One Museum Road, is holding a New Year’s Eve Dance featuring Richie Lee and The Fabulous 50’s from 7 p.m. to midnight Sunday. Tickets are $25 per person or reserve a table for eight for $150. Ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, snacks and a midnight champagne toast. Beginning today and lasting approximately five days, the 1600 block of Second Ave. N. will be closed to through traffic, according to the city of Fort Dodge. Local traffic will still have access. Motorists are asked to be alert, reduce speed and use caution near this area.
Visit Fort Dodge Inc. has received a $10,000 state grant to help pay for a print and digital promotion effort. The money will help pay for increased accessibility for the Fort Dodge and Webster County Destination Guide. It will also help pay for a corresponding out-of-state digital campaign. The money comes from the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
