Webster County Democrats elect new co-chairs

During a recent Central Committee meeting, the Webster County Democrats elected Claudia Koch and Amber Rouse as the new WCD co-chairs by a majority vote. In addition, the WCD voted to keep the current slate of party officers, including re-electing Nedra Conrad as treasurer, Lorie Spanjers as secretary, and Demarcus Carter as diversity, equity, and inclusion chair.

Schuster promoted in FD Fire Department

Fort Dodge firefighter Devon Schuster has been promoted to lieutenant to fill a vacancy. He is a Fort Dodge native. He has been a city firefighter since September 2016. He has the following professional certifications: Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor, Critical Care Paramedic and Hazardous Materials Technician.

Private Pesticide Continuing Instruction course offered

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Webster County office will be offering another opportunity to attend the Private Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Course (P-CIC), led by Extension Field Agronomist Angie Rieck-Hinz. No injuries in storage building fire near Moorland

MOORLAND — A structure fire in rural Moorland Sunday was likely caused by electrical issues of a side-by-side vehicle that was being worked on, according to Moorland Firefighter Brad Hoffman. According to Hoffman, Moorland Fire Department was dispatched to 2136 Hayes Ave. on Sunday afternoon when a steel storage building caught fire. He said the property owner had been inside the building working on a side-by-side when he left for a few minutes.
