Audit of hazmat commission released

1 min read

Schnurr & Co. LLP, certified public accountants and consultants, released an audit report on the Region V Hazardous Materials Response Commission in Fort Dodge.

The commission's revenues totaled $234,381 for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2023, the firm reported.

That is a 33.4 percent decrease from the prior fiscal year, according to the auditors. The decrease is attributed to a drop in grants and contributions.

The expenses for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2023, were $249,994. That is down from the previous fiscal year. The decrease is attributed to the fact that in the prior fiscal year a new truck was purchased, but there were no similar big purchases in 2022-2023.

The commission is the funding body for the regional hazardous materials response team operated by the Fort Dodge Fire Department.

A copy of the audit report is available for review on the Auditor of State's website.
