KYL to host author Sara Broers Thursday

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library patrons are invited to hear about another book written by Sara Broers. Her newest release, “Perfect Day Iowa: Day Trips, Weekend Getaways, and Other Escapes,” will be presented from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Kendall Young Library, Webster City. Iowa is in the heart of America and is often referred to as “flyover” country. Broers, a lifelong Iowan, shares how easy it is to have a perfect day in Iowa. She will show you what you can expect in numerous areas of the state in “Perfect Day Iowa.”

Webster City’s Cat Hut will ‘Pawty on’ for the paws

WCCT to hold auditions for ‘Beauty and the Beast Jr.’

WEBSTER CITY — Young people from Webster City and surrounding areas are invited to be part of “a tale as old as time,” as Webster City Community Theatre presents “Disney’s Beauty and The Beast Jr.” this summer. Fort Dodge Women’s Connection to meet April 9

Fort Dodge Women’s Connection invites all area women to a brunch at 9:30 a.m. April 9 at Tea Thyme, 2021 Sixth Ave. S. Tickets are $15 inclusive. Part of Paragon Avenue to be closed

Paragon Avenue/Webster County Road P59 between 120th and 170th streets will be closed beginning Tuesday and will remain closed through mid-August, according to the Webster County Road Department. The road’s intersections with 140th and 150th streets will also be closed. Detours will be posted. The road closure is necessary to accommodate the construction of a new trail along Paragon Avenue.

Military Academy Day is Thursday

Anyone interested in attending one of the nation’s military academies is invited to learn more about them during an event this week. The Military Academy Day will begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Greehey Family Student Success Center at Iowa Central Community College.
