WEBSTER CITY — The regular meeting of the Hamilton County Supervisors Tuesday was relatively quiet with few decisions needing discussion, which allowed Chairman Rick Young to handle the bi-monthy meeting quickly. Two appointments to the new Webster County Public Safety Authority were approved by the Fort Dodge City Council Monday. The council appointed Ryan Gruenberg as the city’s representative. He is a former Fort Dodge Police Department captain who is the vice president of operations at Iowa Central Community College. The council also approved Vickie Reeck as the joint city-county representative on the authority’s board. Intersection, Public Safety Authority top council agenda

The Fort Dodge City Council is expected to address two major issues when it meets tonight: an intersection job and the entity that may build a new Law Enforcement Center. The council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S. The intersection to be addressed is Second Avenue North and North 15th Street. Tonight the council will consider awarding a contract for the complete reconstruction of the intersection. Castor Construction, of Fort Dodge, submitted the apparent low bid of about $3 million.
