FDSH students honored for work in math, science

The annual Fort Dodge Senior High Math and Science Recognition was held March 18. Thirty-three seniors were recognized for their efforts in mathematics and 84 were honored for earning eight or more credits in science during their high school career. 44 inducted into NHS at FDSH

Forty-four Fort Dodge Senior High students were inducted into the National Honor Society on March 17. Six Senior High students selected for All State Speech

Fort Dodge Senior High’s speech team had a successful showing at the Individual State Speech Contest, qualifying six performances for the All State Speech Festival at the University of Northern Iowa, which is being held today. Fort Dodge Senior High students prepared 31 entries for the Iowa High School Speech Association District Individual Speech Contest held Feb. 27 in Fort Dodge. Twenty-five Fort Dodge Senior High performers received Division I ratings and advanced to the State Individual Speech Contest on March 9. Speech program grows at St. Edmond

During the 2014-2015 school year, St. Edmond Catholic School’s Speech team underwent an overhaul and added the branch of Large Group Speech. Since that time, the school’s speech program has continually grown and developed into a stronger and more developed team. It eventually grew to the point where it evolved into a school club — the Drama Club. FDSH girls swim team is All American Scholar Team

The Fort Dodge Senior High girls swim team has been accepted as an All American Scholar Team by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America. The team was named a Silver All American Scholar Team with a team grade-point average of 3.7. The team will be recognized with a certificate noting the accomplishment.
