Four area residents have been named to the President’s List and the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Des Moines Area Community College. Virtual kid classes resume at the Blanden

The Blanden Memorial Art Museum will resume art opportunities for youth starting on Oct. 17. Classes were developed to work virtually yet have the one-on-one capability of creating a piece of art for the participants involved. Hayes graduates from Northwestern

ORANGE CITY — Cornelia Hayes, of Fort Dodge, was among 225 graduates to receive bachelor’s degrees at Northwestern College during commencement ceremonies July 18. Twenty-four students received Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees, while the rest of the graduating seniors were granted Bachelor of Arts degrees. Area students graduate from Wartburg

WAVERLY — Wartburg College awarded diplomas to 276 students during a virtual Spring Commencement on May 24. Those receiving diplomas include: Brock Miller, of Fort Dodge, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in computer science. He is the son of Jason and Susan Miller. Erica Rittgers, of Gowrie, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics. She is the daughter of Lynn E. Rittgers and Mark Rittgers.

Hayes, Meier make Dean’s List at Northwestern

Cornelia Hayes and Karisa Meier, students at Northwestern College in Orange City, have earned a spot on the Academic Dean’s List for the spring 2020 semester. The Dean’s List is comprised of students who have achieved a semester grade-point average of 3.50 or above while carrying a minimum of 12 graded hours. ANKENY — More than 800 students graduated following the spring semester from Des Moines Area Community College’s Ankeny, Boone, Carroll, Newton, Urban/Des Moines and West Des Moines campuses. Fort Dodge graduates are Joseph Correa, liberal arts; Emily Pecka, liberal arts; and Brian Waller, ASSET-Ford.
