CCS Christmas program is Thursday

The Community Christian School Christmas program will be performed at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday in the school chapel. All students in preschool through eighth grade will join together to provide the program. The performances are open to the public. Students will be featured in a musical with narration titled, “Tell the World Jesus is Born.” CCS is located at 2406 9 1/2 Ave S. For more information, call the school at (515) 573-3011.

St. Edmond sets Christmas programs

St. Edmond Catholic School has announced its Christmas programs. All performances will be held at the school, 2220 Fourth Ave. N. The preschool programs will be held on Friday. Julie Irvin’s class will perform at 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Margaret Junkman’s class will perform at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The high school classes will perform at 3 p.m. on Dec. 9. St. Ed students chosen for All-State Chorus

Sophomores Hallie Ehn, Maggie Lennon, and Ella Vratny, of St. Edmond Catholic School, have attained the highest individual honor available to Iowa high school musicians. The three were selected as members of the 2018 All-State Chorus. Hallie Ehn is the daughter of Robert and Lindsay Ehn. Maggie Lennon is the daughter of Lance and Samantha Lennon. Ella Vratny is the daughter of Jay Vratny and Amy Stark. District auditions for the 601-member All-State Chorus were held Oct. 20. About 17 percent of the students who audition are selected for membership in the All-State ensembles. ...

FDCSD preschool pre-registration begins today

Preschool pre-registration for the 2019-20 school year opens today at the Fort Dodge Community School District. To be eligible to attend preschool in the fall of 2019, children must be 4 years old by Sept. 15, 2019. Preschool hours are 8 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., with the doors opening at 7:30 a.m. Research shows children can gain a variety of skills by attending preschool, and it helps prepare them for kindergarten.
