The St. Edmond girls tennis team moved to 2-0 with a 7-2 victory over Charles City here Monday at Dodger courts.

Abby Huss, Sophia Schlienz and Olivia Andrew each posted dominating 8-0 wins in singles, as Jade Rock added an 8-2 decision in her favor, as the Gaels have now won 23 consecutive North Central Conference duals.

In doubles, Huss and Chloe Palmer were winners, 8-1, Schlienz and Andrew scored an 8-1 decision, and Rock and Kaci McGonegle won, 8-3.

"The girls played solid tennis throughout," SEHS head coach Shawn Neverman said. "Chloe did a nice job of bouncing back from a loss to Sofia Alinea, a two-time state qualifier, in singles to earn a win in doubles with Abby. Sophia and Olivia kept their chemistry from last year in rolling and I thought that Jade and Kaci looked really good together for the first time."

In junior varsity action, Emmersyn Peters and Lizzy Tiernan scored singles wins, as did the doubles team of Dylan Eslick and Allie Birkett.

St. Edmond heads to Clear Lake for more league action on Tuesday.
