Fort Dodge Fire Department crews work to extinguish a fire that engulfed a minivan in downtown Fort Dodge on Tuesday afternoon. The Fort Dodge Fire Department was called to the intersection of First Avenue North and North Ninth Street shortly after 3:30 p.m. According to Capt. Jason Vandi, the driver of the vehicle and seven children inside escaped without injury. He said the driver reported that the van had been overheating recently and that an exact cause of the fire won't be determined.
