David George announces candidacy for Calhoun County supervisor in District 1

MANSON — Former Manson Mayor David George, has officially announced his candidacy for Calhoun County Supervisor in District 1, which includes Manson, Pomeroy, Jolley, Knierim, the majority of Twin Lakes, and the surrounding areas.

George vowed to bring his decades of experience to the table as County Supervisor saying, “I look forward to using my experience both as mayor and in the private sector to work on behalf of the citizens of District 1 to secure a more prosperous future for all of Calhoun County”

A graduate of Pomeroy High School, George furthered his education at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. Returning to Manson in 1978, George has since been an active member of the community. As a former small business owner in Manson, George understands the challenges facing rural businesses and is committed to supporting their growth and success within the county. Currently, he works in sales, purchasing, and design at Beisser Lumber in Fort Dodge. Serving as mayor of Manson for 18 years, George demonstrated his dedication to the community and his ability to effectively address the needs of his constituents. Known as a dedicated problem solver, George is ready to tackle the challenges facing Calhoun County.

Among other things, George said he will focus on Improving EMS Services countywide, ending the landownership dispute between Twin Lakes residents and Calhoun County, improving economic development, and increasing transparency within the Board of Supervisors.

In announcing his candidacy, George stated, “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the residents of Calhoun County as their next County Supervisor. With your support, I am confident that together we can build a brighter future for our community.”
