Dodger wrestlers finally return home
For the first time in 2026, the Fort Dodge wrestling teams will showcase their talents in the FDSH gym.
The 14th-ranked Dodgers will face Ames on Thursday, while the Fort Dodge girls will compete against Ames and Boone.
The matches will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the Ames vs. Boone girls and Dodger junior varsity matches against Ames.
The Fort Dodge girls will hit the mat at 5:30 p.m. against Ames, while the Ames and Boone boys will wrestle at the same.
The FDSH girls will face Boone at 6:30 p.m., and the Dodger boys will wrestle Ames as well.
The Fort Dodge girls then finish the night against Ames at 7:30 p.m.
Following those matches, the Dodger boys will compete against Ames and the Dodger girls will face Boone.
The Fort Dodge boys are coming off the Mendenhall Invitational where top-ranked Dreshaun Ross (285) was crowned a champion.
Knox Ayala (106), Damien Yeoman (113), Rylee Brown (165) and Jesse Egli (190) placed third.Trace Rial (120) finished fourth.
Ross is now 128-2 in his career and 17-0 this season. The Oklahoma State University commit has now won 119 consecutive high school matches.
Brown reached the 100 career win mark earlier in the week and sits at 104-68. Classmate Jesse Egli did the same and is at 103-66.
The Dodger girls are coming off a sixth-place finish at the Ogden Invitational. Senior Mariaha Benedict (135) picked up her 150th career victory in the championship round.
Freshman Ava Potter (235) was a runner-up. Shayley Butrick (110) and Brooklyn Nelson (115) both took fourth.
