Fort Dodge boys continue to struggle offensively

MARSHALLTOWN — The Fort Dodge boys fell to rival Marshalltown here Friday night, 53-33.

Down just one after the first quarter, the Dodgers (1-6 overall, 0-3 in the Iowa Alliance North) headed into the break in an eight-point deficit. From there, the Bobcats (5-2, 2-0) used a 16-8 run in the third to take control of the contest.

Reggie Pederson led the way for Fort Dodge with nine points, as Hayden Zuspann sank two 3-pointers and scored six. Tytrell Mosley and Taevon Feeley each had five, as Brody Maehl contributed four.

For Marshalltown, Gavin Misek had a game-high 19 points — 17 above his season average — and Jacob Hayes finished with 17. The Bobcats’ leading scorer, Kyle Smith, was held to four.

The Dodgers return to action on Monday at Des Moines Lincoln at 7 p.m.
