Triton women drub Metropolitan, 65-28
After dropping their season opener, the Iowa Central women have reeled off three straight victories.
The Tritons (3-1 overall) knocked off Metropolitan (1-4) by a final of 65-28 on Saturday to conclude the Great Western Dining Classic inside Hodges Fieldhouse.
Iowa Central controlled the game from the tip, leading 17-6 after one quarter and 35-10 at the break. They held Metropolitan under double digits in three of the four quarters.
The Tritons placed three players in double figures, led by MacKenna Bush’s 12 points. Ashlin Jacobsen had 11 and Kaydence Nicholas had 10.
Shakani Murray and Trista Ohlmeier contributed eight points each.
Iowa Central controlled the boards as well, out rebounding Metropolitan 41-31.
The Tritons are back in action on Friday in Dixon, Ill. They’ll face Sauk Valley Community College. Tip is set for 5 p.m.
