Seeden steps down as Gael volleyball coach
Heather Seeden has resigned as head volleyball coach at St. Edmond.
The school’s activities director, David Flattery, confirmed with The Messenger that assistant Lindsay Heffernan has been named interim head coach for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Seeden took the program over last year after serving as an assistant coach, leading the Gaels to a 19-12 record. That marked St. Edmond’s most wins in a season since 2017.
Seeden was 25-21 overall as head coach with the school.
Heffernan becomes the sixth different head coach for the St. Edmond volleyball program since 2020.
The Gaels are currently 6-10 overall and host North Central Conference rival Algona on Thursday night at 7 p.m. They have three regular season matches left after that — against Clear Lake, Manson Northwest Webster and Humboldt — while also competing in the Hampton-Dumont/CAL Invitational and the Algona October Invitational.
