Golden Bears run for 443 yards

ALGONA — Top-ranked Bishop Garrigan ran the ball all night and never looked back, advancing to the second round of eight-man action on Friday night.

The Golden Bears (9-0 overall) ran for 443 yards in a 57-12 win over Kingsley-Pierson.

Both Ethan Marso and CJ McGregor ran for over 100 yards. Marso had three touchdowns on runs of six, five, and six. McGregor scored twice on jaunts of 65 and 43 yards.

Marso finished with 141 yards on 15 carries and McGregor had 131 on five scores.

Tate Foertsch had an 18-yard touchdown pass to Michael Joyce and Foertsch also scored on a one-yard plunge. Jared Graves scored on a one-yard score.

Carter McGregor had 82 yards, while Foertsch had 69 on the ground. Foertsch finished 4-for-9 for 73 yards.

Madden Miller, Joyce, McGregor and Foertsch all had interceptions, giving the Golden Bears 19 on the season.
