Dodgers rated 10th in AP prep grid poll

On the heels of a big road win over Spencer last week, the Fort Dodge football team finds itself back in the latest Associated Press Class 4A Top-10.
The Dodgers returned to the rankings on Tuesday at No. 10 following their 47-28 victory versus the Tigers.
Fort Dodge (5-1 overall) was one of 12 newcomers to the ratings this week, including four in 2A.
Up next for the Dodgers will be Storm Lake (2-4) on the road this Friday night, before returning home to face Le Mars (4-2). Fort Dodge will close out the regular season on Friday, Oct. 24, at Sioux City West.
Sergeant Bluff-Luton (5-1), the lone squad to defeat the Dodgers, moved from fifth to third in 4A.
Both Waukee Northwest and Cedar Rapids Xavier were unanimous choices as No. 1 in 5A and 4A, respectively. The Wolves are the only unbeaten team left in the state’s largest classification.
Clear Lake (3A), Carroll Kuemper (2A), Grundy Center (1A), Saint Ansgar (A) and Bishop Garrigan (eight-player) all remained No. 1 this week.
The Golden Bears head to Northwood-Kensett this Friday night. Marty Wadle’s squad has not lost a regular season game since falling to St. Edmond on Aug. 23, 2023 — a span of 21 consecutive games.
Manson Northwest Webster (4-2) picked up five points in 1A, while Emmetsburg (4-2) received two.
