Southeast Valley rally falls short
GOWRIE — Southeast Valley put together a late fourth quarter rally that fell short on Friday.
The Jaguars (1-1 overall) trailed 28-7 going into the fourth and scored 20 to cut the deficit to 28-27 before Emmetsburg (2-0) closed out a 34-27 victory.
Mason Bahr was 8-for-16 passing for 106 yards for the Jaguars.
Bahr also had 15 carries for 84 yards. He had a three-yard touchdown run and hit Bryce Harrison for a 36-yard scoring strike.
Casey Hanson, also a quarterback, ran for a three-yard touchdown and one-yard score. He had 11 yards rushing and was 4-for-7 for 52 yards.
Harrison had three catches for 72 yards. Logan Jaeschke had five catches for 38 yards.
The Jaguars had 277 yards of total offense to 265 for the E-Hawks.
Emmetsburg’s Tyce Jenness scored from nine yards out to give the E-Hawks the 34-27 win.
Jenness had 11 carries for 83 yards and four touchdowns. The E-Hawk scored from 13, nine, nine and six yards out.
Bradyen Yates carried the ball 29 times for 137 yards in the victory.
