Bears earn shutout

RICEVILLE — It was another big night for the Bishop Garrigan football team, as they rolled to a 52-0 victory over Riceville on Friday night.

Tate Foertsch threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more.

Foertsch had four carries for 109 yards and scored from 49 and 34 yards out.

He was 7-for-9 passing for 109 yards. Foertsch connected with Michael Joyce for a 27-yard scoring strike and hit Kyle Bormann from 13 yards for a touchdown.

Ethan Marso had 10 carries for 80 yards and touchdown runs of 10 and five.

Lucas Behounek had a four-yard touchdown jaunt.

Joyce had four catches for 65 yards.

The Golden Bear defense only gave up 85 yards of total offense, holding Riceville to 52 yards through the air and 33 on the ground.

Joyce had two interceptions, while Marso had one. Joyce now has four interceptions on the season.

Titan Troyer had six tackles. Carter Schwab had four tackles and Foertsch had four. Matt Besch had three.
