XR Rampage comes to Sports Park Raceway

A championship prize of $100,000 will be on the line the next two nights at Sports Park Raceway, as the XR Rampage series visits Fort Dodge as part of its 2025 stock car circuit.

Nearly 200 drivers are expected to compete in the action, which starts on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The pit booth opens at noon, with the grandstands available for fans beginning at 4 p.m.

The two-day event then concludes on Wednesday, with grandstands opening at 2 and racing at 5.

The feature payout is massive, as the winner receives a six-figure prize. Second place is a $20,000 payout, with third at $10,000. The Top-24 finishers will be paid, with the smallest reward going to places 17-24 at $2,000 each.

According to the XR Rampage website, qualifying groups will be determined by pill draw on Tuesday. Racers will be distributed evenly in groups of around 25 participants.

The first group will be composed of the lowest drawn pills; the second group will be the next lowest pills, etc. until the final group, which will be composed of the highest drawn pills.

A total of 400 points are awarded for group quick time, 398 for 2nd, 396 for 3rd, 394 for 4th, and so on. If a racer does not attempt a qualifying lap, they will receive 325 points.

Qualifying results per group will also determine the selection order for heat race lineups. The driver placing first in their qualifying group will have the first pick for which starting spot and heat race they will compete in within their qualifying group.

The driver placing second in the qualifying group will have the next pick, so on and so forth until all heat race spots have been selected.

In heat races, 200 points will be awarded to the heat race winner, 197 for 2nd, 194 for 3rd, 191 for 4th, 188 for 5th, etc.

A total of 2.5 points are added for each position gained compared to official starting position. 2.5 points are subtracted for each position lost compared to official starting position.

Drivers must attempt to run the race to receive qualifying points.

Points from qualifying and heats are then combined to determine the lineups for the alphabet soup. Tiebreakers are determined first by heat finish, then qualifying placement, then best qualifying time.

Qualifying points come from the combined points from qualifying, heat race finish, and passing points. The Top-14 in qualifying points after the heat races are locked into the $100,000-to-win XR Rampage Main Event on Wednesday. The Top 10 from each alphabet soup race will then advance to the next race.

Adult grandstand ticket prices are $10 each on Tuesday and $30 on Wednesday. Kids 12 and under will receive free admission if accompanied by a paying adult.

Pit passes are also available at the track.
