Senior Ericson Morales picked a perfect night to have one of the best games of his career.

Morales recorded a hat trick as the Dodgers (3-8 overall) rolled to a 5-0 victory over East Sac County on Friday.

It was Morales’ second hat trick of the season. He now has eight goals this season.

Sophomore Madden Bailey added two goals for the Dodgers.

“I’m really happy for Ericson to get those great opportunities and great balls,” said FDSH head coach Joe Jackson. “Shawn (Roberts II) did a great job getting the ball up the field.”

Oscar Suriano, Morales and Mateo Ron all recorded assists in the victory.

Alex Berger had three saves in the box for the Dodgers.

Along with Morales, the Dodgers honored fellow 12th-graders Shawn Roberts II, Alex Jensen, Max Nguyen and Tung Nguyen on Friday for Senior Night.

“It was great to see our two senior stalwarts (Morales and Roberts II) play so well,” Jackson said. “Shawn is a senior captain and brings joy to the team. He is so happy go-lucky, and worked really hard on the field. He’s done his best and stepped it up.

“Ericson has been battling guys six to seven inches bigger than he is and taking balls away from opponents who play club ball.”

All five Dodgers saw the field in varsity action.

“It was great to be able to get all the seniors in there,” Jackson said. “Alex had a shot on goal. That was great to see him work.

“It was also fun to see Max and Tung out there playing on senior night.”

The Raiders fell to 4-6 on the year with the loss.

The Dodgers are back in action on Tuesday when they host Des Moines Lincoln inside Dodger Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

Starting at $2.99/week.
