Dodger girls win golf meet behind Dencklau, Lloyd

JEFFERSON — The Fort Dodge girls golf team defeated Greene County here Thursday, 198-218.

Senior Iowa Central recruit Braxtyn Dencklau led the Dodgers with a meet-low 44. Dencklau recorded a 3, two 4s and three 5s on her scorecard at The Hill Golf Course.

Sophomore Emma Lloyd followed with a 48 to finish as the overall runner-up.

Alani Crouse carded a 50 and Brielle Crouch a 56 for the Dodgers, who broke 200 for the first time under head coach Angela Dencklau.

Fort Dodge returns to action on Saturday when the compete in a tournament at Storm Lake. Joining the Dodgers and host Tornadoes will be Algona, Humboldt, Carroll, Carroll Kuemper, MOC-Floyd Valley and Spencer at Lake Creek Country Club beginning at 8 a.m.
