Cougars, Jaguars win team gold
SAC CITY — The Manson Northwest Webster girls and Southeast Valley boys were crowned champions here Monday night at the East Sac County Relays.
The Cougars held off the host Raiders with the Jaguars third. In the boys race, Southeast Valley topped Ridge View and East Sac County. Manson NW was fifth.
Leading the way for the Cougars were event winners Kyla Egli (100 hurdles), Tia Brennan (1,500) and Elissa Anderson (shot put).
Wendy Veit was the 400 and long jump champion for East Sac County, which also claimed the shuttle hurdle and 4×400 gold. Veit was a part of both relay wins.
Camryn Lane captured the 400 for Southeast Valley, as the Jaguars also won the 4×800.
For South Central Calhoun, Mya Ridgely was first in the 200 and Tristin Gorden first in the discus.
The Jaguar boys saw Dreyvon Steadman win the 100, Colin Johnson the 110 hurdles, Kayden Showers the 200, and the 4×100, 4×400 and shuttle hurdle relays finish first.
Riley Aragon won the 3,200 for the Raiders, while the Cougars picked up victories from Matt Condon in the high jump and the 4×800-meter relay.
Jace Pederson was first in the shot put for the Titans.
