Dodger boys pick up sweep of Hoover
The Fort Dodge boys tennis team posted an 11-0 victory over Des Moines Hoover here Tuesday night.
Micah Flaherty, Tate Balkenende, Aidan Recker, Arthur Lund, Corban McHone and Jaxon Price were all winners in singles.
“It was good for us to come out, set the tone and get those six singles wins to secure the dual,” FDSH head coach Scott Messerly said. “I thought the guys really played some good, strong tennis for us.”
In doubles, the Dodgers secured wins from Flaherty and Recker, Balkenende and Jaxton Jones, Drew Essman and Lund and Jayden Lennon and Mason Lundberg.
“We mixed some doubles pairings up and I thought they all did a nice job adjusting,” Messerly said. “We’ve got a few days to practice before we return to the courts.”
Fort Dodge heads to Boone on Monday to play the Toreadors and Nevada.
