Dodgers drop a pair

OTTUMWA — The Fort Dodge baseball team dropped a pair of contests to Ottumwa on Wednesday night.

The Dodgers (6-7 overall) lost the opener, 13-5, and fell 14-8 in the nightcap.

Fort Dodge struggled in the field in both contests, committing 16 errors in the two contests. In the opener, they had five hits, three of which were for extra bases.

Junior Rylan Kingrey had a triple, while sophomore Dalton Eckley and freshman Bo Marsh both added doubles. Eckley drove in three runs, while Marsh and senior Karch Smith had one RBI.

In the second tilt, Smith and Eckley had two hits each. Freshman Kolton Schiltz had a double and drove in three runs. Smith and sophomore Jaxson Dencklau also drove in runs.

The Dodgers are back in action on Thursday when they host Marshalltown in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
