LIVERMORE — Both the Humboldt and Webster City boys golf teams advanced to a Class 3A district meet after placing second and third, respectively, at Spring Valley on Wednesday.

North Polk (296) was the champion, as the Wildcats (304) and Lynx (307) were right behind.

Humboldt’s Carson Sleiter (73) was the runner-up in a three way tie for the individual race, as North Polk’s Jacob Eagan (71) was meet medalist.

Sleiter was one-over on the front with eight pars. On the back, he shot even with one birdie and seven pars.

Classmate Cade Birdsell (75) placed fifth, while Corey Dettmann (77) was 12th and Parker Sleiter and Carson Arndt tied for 15th at 79.

The Lynx had three golfers in the Top-10. Cael Nixon (73) tied for the runner-up spot, Braden Doering (74) was fifth and Braylon Plain (75) was ninth.

Dawson Bertran (85) took 28th.

MNW’s Smith advances

CARROLL — Manson Northwest Webster’s Tucker Smith advanced to a Class 2A district golf meet after carding a 78 here on Wednesday.

Smith placed fourth in a sectional tournament. He moves on to Landsmeer Golf Course in Orange City for districts.
