TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Alabama softball team is set to conclude the regular season beginning Thursday with a three-game set at Auburn.

On the year, the Crimson Tide are 32-14 overall with former Humboldt standout Kendal Clark a key piece of the offense.

Clark, a junior, is hitting .286 with three home runs, four doubles and 14 RBI in 36 games. She has an on-base percentage of .408, and has worked 13 walks while being hit five other times.

“Just our mentality the last few games,” Clark said earlier this year following a win over Ole Miss. “No matter what happens we stay together. We’ve done that on all sides of the ball and it’s just awesome.

“All of my teammates provide great energy and we need that.”

Following her run as a Wildcat, Clark earned NJCAA All-American honors while playing for Des moines Area. She had 27 home runs and 90 hits during her time with the Bears, driving in 101 in 56 games.

Clark recorded her first RBI on a double in February vs. St. Thomas and had her first Crimson Tide home run vs. UAB that same month. She drove in the winning run in a March victory over Virginia Tech and also hit homers vs. Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

Alabama is coming off a 1-0 win over No. 3 Tennessee after dropping the first two games of the series. The first game of the series with Auburn will air live on ESPNU at 7 p.m. Iowa time.

“If we stick together, we can do anything we put our minds to,” Clark said. “(It feels great) doing what I can do for the team.”

The SEC Tournament begins May 7 and will be hosted by Auburn. Alabama is ninth in the league with a mark of 9-12 in the league at the moment, but within range of moving into fifth with a strong run to end the year.
