Dodger 8th graders at Waukee NW
WAUKEE — The Fort Dodge eighth grade boys and girls track squads were in action on Monday at Waukee Northwest.
For the Dodgers, Luke Beckley took second in the 200-meter dash (25.00), second in the 400 (56.15) and third in the 100 (12.25).
Reggie Pederson was second in the long jump (17-2.5) and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.63).
Joseph Petersen was a runner-up in the 1600-meter run (5:08.45). Amari McCaleb tied for third in the high jump (5-6).
On the girls side, Fort Dodge’s 4×800 relay squad of Zoey Balm, Charlotte Breeser, Linnie Pratt and Paisley Mundie earned a silver medal in 11:07.96. Pratt took third in the 1500-meter run (5:38.60).
Brooklyn Nelson placed fourth in the high jump (4-8). Adyson Friesth was fifth in the 100 hurdles (18.09). The shuttle hurdle relay quartet of Aubrey Alstott, Sydney Carver, Charlotte DeJong and Friesth finished fifth as well (1:18.83).
The meet included teams from Waukee Northwest, Waukee, West Des Moines Valley, Johnston, Southeast Polk and Ankeny.
