Another sweep for Triton softball squad

ESTHERVILLE — The Iowa Central softball team picked up another sweep here Saturday vs. Iowa Lakes.

Scores were 8-0 and 12-1 in favor of the Tritons (23-11 overall, 6-2 in the ICCAC).

In the opener, Bre Nolte and Jayda Long each had three hits, with Nolte driving in four and Long three. Morgan Weeks added two hits and a pair of RBI in support of Emma Hoyle.

Hoyle pitched the first four innings, striking out eight.

Kennedy Palmer was 4-for-4 with two RBI and a steal in the nightcap as Aleena Sandy added two hits and two RBI.

Jadeyn Stahr earned the win, striking out seven and Cailyn Hardy picking up four strikeouts over two innings of work.

The Lakers are now 10-18 and 1-7.

The Tritons return to action Monday when they host Ellsworth (15-15) at 4 p.m. for a doubleheader at Rogers Park.
