First win for Dodger boys

FDSH pitches 5-0 shutout on Senior Night

The Fort Dodge boys soccer team honored their seniors and left Dodger Stadium with a 5-0 victory over East Sac County here Thursday night.

Seniors Josh Meier, Grant Harrison and Kamden Gilday-Dube all tallied a goal, with Gavin Schillerstrom and Franco Juarez also finding the back of the net.

Schillerstrom, Harrison and Ryan Madden recorded an assist as well.

“It was a great night,” FDSH head coach Joe Jackson said. “We controlled much of the game, had plenty of shots and played excellent defense.

“It was also great to honor our 14 seniors and their parents for all the hard work they have put in.”

Along with Meier, Harrison and Gilday-Dube, seniors Adam Pearson, Carter Delanoit, Milo Hamilton, Nathan Rethwisch, Andrew Kendall, Antonio Prates and Thornton Aljets were recognized.

“It’s a great group that really has worked hard to get better,” Jackson said. “This was a good one for them to have.”

Pearson recorded a clean sheet in net, facing no shots on goal. The Dodgers put up 46 shots on East Sac County, with 30 on goal and had nine corner kicks.

Fort Dodge returns to action Friday night against Waukee.
