Meier places 3rd for Dodgers

STORM LAKE — Fort Dodge senior Josh Meier turned in a top-five performance in Storm Lake on Tuesday.

Meier finished in fourth place with a time of 17:46. He was nearly five seconds behind third place finisher Jason Studtelgte of Le Mars (17:41).

Harlan’s Trey Gross (17:00) was the winner, while Sam May of MOC-Floyd Valley (17:20) was second.

Le Mars won the team title with 38 points, while MOC-Floyd Valley was the runner-up. The Dodgers finished eighth.

Ryan Madden (19:02) was 21st, while Carter Delanoit took 29th (19:24). Also competing for the Dodgers was Nathan Rethwisch (62nd in 21:47), Jaren Christy (66th in 22:17), Grant Harrison (76th in 23:38) and Zeke Pineda was 77th in 23:47.58.

The Algona boys were sixth. Ryan Stundahl was ninth in 18:10.

“We had another great race,” said FDSH head coach Joe Jackson. “Most of our runners posted personal records for this course or personal records for this year. Josh led with a fourth place finish against some top 3A competitors.”

Algona was fourth with 118 points in the girls race. Harlan was the team champion at 38. Fort Dodge took 10th.

For the Bulldog girls, Moriah Knapp earned fifth (20:54) and Carley Mullins (22:07) was 13th.

Alexis Read (24:01) paced the Dodgers in 27th place. Also competing for Fort Dodge was Isabel Beekman (38th in 24:29), Maddie Daniel (46th in 25:03), Hannah Drummond (62nd in 26:59), Morgan Bodholdt (65th 27;15), Aja Jallow (75th 29:43) and Briley Frank 76th in 30:48).
