Gaels silenced by Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE — The St. Edmond baseball team dropped an 11-0 road decision to Clear Lake on Wednesday.

Nick Bennett had two hits and Jack McEvoy doubled for the Gaels (3-4 overall). The Lions, winners of five in a row after a 1-5 start, improved to 6-5.

Only six of the 11 Clear Lake runs were earned. St. Edmond pitchers also walked seven batters.

“I can’t wait to see when we put a complete game together,” SEHS head coach Mike Szalat said. “I think we can be a very good team when we get to that point. I’m going to continue to be positive.”

Chase Stover drove in four runs for the Lions. Leadoff hitter Erik McHenry scored three times.

The Gaels host Eagle Grove at Rogers Park on Thursday.

First-pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
