SPIRIT LAKE – Humboldt suffered a 34-28 setback to Spirit Lake on Friday night.

Drew Thomas led the Wildcats (2-4 overall, 1-3 district) with two touchdown passes against the Indians (5-1, 3-1).

Thomas threw a 58-yard scoring strike to Jamie Heinz and a 25-yard score Eli Sande.

Colton Monson returned an interception 24 yards for a score. Logan Moser had a 14-yard touchdown run.

Monson led the Wildcats on the ground with 62 yards on 15 carries. Thomas had 45 yards on 11 carries.

Thomas finished the night 13-for-29 for 225 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions.

Heinz had three catches fro 116 yards and Sande had four grabs for 44 yards.

Monson and Devon Clark had seven tackles each.
