Mustangs will return to playoffs
NEWELL – The ninth-ranked (8-man) Newell-Fonda football team made a strong closing statement to the regular season here Friday night, blasting Siouxland Christian 80-32.
Reed Kruse accounted for four touchdowns, running in two and throwing a pair. Kruse was 3-for-3 passing for 95 yards, while rushing five times for 74 yards.
Jesse Haack added three rushing touchdowns and 74 yards on just four carries in the game.
The Mustangs (7-2 overall, 6-1 in district) will enter the postseason as a district runner-up.
Cody Holtgrewe had three interceptions and Haack recorded 12 tackles on defense.
