Madrid too much for Cougars

MANSON – The Manson Northwest Webster football team fell to fifth-ranked Madrid, 56-20.

The Cougars (3-5 overall, 2-4 district) trailed 21-14 with seven minutes to go in the first half, but the Tigers (8-0, 6-0) scored two touchdowns in 22 seconds.

Mark Condon had a five-yard touchdown for the Cougars, while Derek Girard threw a 54-yard scoring strike to Keegan Pritchard.

Reid Steinberg returned a fumble 66 yards for a score.

Girard finished the night 10-for-24 for 183 yards. Pritchard caught seven balls for 141 yards.
