Newell-Fonda does it again
NEWELL — Another week, another Top-10 battle for Newell-Fonda.
The fifth-ranked Mustangs downed No. 6 Harris-Lake Park here Friday night, 20-7.
Jesse Haack had two rushing scores in the first half, finishing with 107 yards and also making 14 tackles on defense to lead Newell-Fonda (6-1 overall, 4-1 in district).
Austin Gerdes added 80 yards rushing, with Bryce Coppock scoring a third quarter touchdown.
Coppock and R.J. Rojas each had an interception, with Jake Davis and Jacob Carlson recording nine tackles each for the Mustangs in the victory.
Newell-Fonda closes out the regular season on the road this Friday at West Bend-Mallard and Collins-Maxwell.
