Eagle Grove moves to 5-2
EAGLE GROVE — Brayden Lyman scored from five yards out with just over five minutes to go, lifting the Eagle Grove football team to a 14-7 victory over Madrid here Friday night.
Lyman, who finished with 96 yards rushing on 20 carries, also threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Niko Padilla in the second quarter and also had a two-point conversion pass connection with Padilla.
Evan Anderson added 62 yards rushing and Ryan Smith picked off two passes for the Eagles (5-2 overall, 3-2 in district).
Smith now has seven interceptions on the season.
Eagle Grove held Madrid to 143 yards of total offense.
