Almost Home is working for the pets
To the editor:
There are exciting things going on here at the Almost Home Human Society of North Central Iowa.
We are pleased to introduce our new executive director, Ashley Tuttle. Ashley comes to Almost Home with eight years of experience in the nonprofit world, with a background in human resources and organizational leadership. She was drawn to Almost Home by its mission. She loves all animals and wants to see that they have the best care until they find their forever homes. Ashley lives in Humboldt with her husband, two sons, a dog and a cat.
A new addition to the shelter building is in the works. It is called a catio. Think of it as a screened-in porch or three-season room specially designed and built for cats. The catio will provide our cats with the opportunity to get all the sunshine and fresh air they want while still remaining safely indoors. We can’t wait to see how our cats react to their new space.
But there is something we need to keep all the good things happening here at Almost Home: your support. We ask you to consider making a donation to the Almost Home Humane Society of North Central Iowa. The society receives no tax dollars, so it is only with your help that we can continue to care for the dogs and cats of our community until they find their forever homes.
