James Edward Jones was born on September 9, 1954, in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1972. James and Rhonda were married in 1982 and the couple established their home in Palm Grove.
James always loved horses, spending his childhood going to horse shows and the sale barn with his father. For 25 years, he traveled around the state barrel racing with his beloved horse and best friend, Bandit.
He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Iowa Hawkeyes. But most of all, he loved his children. In all the years, across several different sports, he never missed a game. He was the kids biggest fan, and he never passed up the chance to argue with an official. His presence will be deeply missed by his family and their friends.
Memorials may be left at the discretion of the family.
