Wilma Proctor

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Laufersweiler Palmer & Sons Funeral Home in Gowrie with Pastor Susan Rohden officiating. Burial will follow at Gowrie Township Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Survivors include daughters, Melissa Smits of Fort Dodge, Patti Alford of Fort Dodge, Alison Pingel of Stanhope, and Suzette (Ben) Dwight, of Fort Dodge; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Paul Gregerson of Knierim; and sister, Lynda (David) Roe of Fort Dodge.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Norma (Goings) Gregerson; two grandsons, Josh Smits, and Joseph Murphy; granddaughter Alissa Ferry; and her husband, Robert Proctor.

Wilma Gregerson was born on August 6, 1941, in Fort Dodge, IA. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1959. Wilma married Norman Pingel in 1962, and they established their home in Gowrie. They later divorced in 1968. Wilma worked as a Nurse's Aide and in Home Health Care for several years, including working for Mercy, the Gowrie Nursing Home for 16 years, 10 years at North Central Home Care, and then 4 years at Trinity Regional Hospital until retiring in 2003. On July 3, 1986, Wilma was united in marriage to Robert Proctor in Fort Dodge, and the couple established their home in Gowrie. Wilma is a member of the United Methodist Church of Gowrie.
