LOIS J. PINGEL

Lois J. Pingel, 86, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Simpson Health Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jennifer Osheim-Owen officiating. Interment will follow at the Paton Township Cemetery at Paton. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to Foster Grandparents or to the discretion of the family.

Lois is survived by her children, Robert (Karen), Mt. Pleasant; Brian (Karen), Myron; and Lisa (Vaughn) Werning, all of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Robert Jr., Samantha, Victor, Lisa, Tommy, Andrea, Taylor, Katelyn and Carson; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Trevor, Gracie, James, Frankie and Maggie; and her brother Jerry (Dora) Hagge, Hastings, Neb. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merlin and an infant granddaughter Jane.

Lois Jane Hagge, the daughter of Harry and Eliza (Taylor) Hagge, was born November 29, 1933, in Paton. She graduated Paton High School in 1951, and moved to Fort Dodge in 1952. On September 22, 1962, Lois was united in marriage to Merlin Pingel in Fort Dodge. Lois worked as a waitress for many restaurants in the area, worked at Fort Dodge Villa Care Center and was active with Foster Grandparents.

Lois was a member of First Congregational Church, the Fort Dodge Women’s Bowling Association, was an inductee of the Fort Dodge Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame and was recognized Bowling League Secretary of the Year. She enjoyed watching sports, word search puzzles and she was an avid reader. Lois especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
