LOUIS SCHUTTLER

MANSON — Louis Schuttler, 92, passed away peace­­fully on Sun. June 2, 2019, at the Good Sam­aritan Society, Manson. Funeral services will be held on Thurs. June 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manson. Visitation will be held on Wed. from 4 until 7 p.m. at Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson.

Louis Oscar Schuttler was born on August 10, 1926, in Pomeroy, Iowa, to Clarence and Tena (Doyen) Schuttler. He attended school in Mallard, IA. He entered the Army in 1944 with the 77th Infantry located in the South Pacific under General Douglas McArthur in Japan as an M. P.

After serving in the Army, he worked for several farmers. He then went to work at Tobin’s, later called Hormel’s and retired after 33 years. He loved mowing, gardening, and telling stories of himself growing up and his time in the Army.

He married Betty Widlund in 1949 and they made their home in Manson. They had nine children.

Survivors are Carol (Tom) Heinze, Kenny (Jann) Schuttler, Joan Steinberg, Brian Schuttler, Anita (Tim) Hoyt, Bill (Sue) Schuttler, Jan (Jim) Klaassen, daughter-in-law Linda Schuttler; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brother Leo (Jane) Schuttler of Pocahontas. He was preceded in death by; his wife Betty in 2013; son Orlin Schuttler in 2008; infant son Jimmy; daughter-in-law Sheila Schuttler; his parents; brothers Lester and Lyle Schuttler.
