MARLITA BLISS
EAGLE GROVE — Marlita Lynne Bliss, the daughter of Lyle E. and Helen (Snyder) Chamberlain, was born on February 2, 1947, in Hirschman, Illinois. She was raised and educated in Mt. Sterling and graduated from Brown County High School in 1965.
On May 30, 1975, Marlita was united in marriage with Ronald Lee Bliss at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove and to this union six children were born.
Marlita worked at Stro-Jo’s Restaurant and the Rotary Ann Homes. Marlita was a member of United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove and served as a Girl Scout Leader for many years.
Marlita enjoyed spending time with family and her many grandchildren. She had a love of nature and liked working with her flowers, watching dragonflies, birds and spending time going on long walks.
Marlita passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Windsor Manor in Webster City, at the age of 71 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shirley Zehnle and Greta Hopper and niece Karen Kendall.
Marlita is survived by her husband Ron Bliss of Eagle Grove; children: Catherine Asklund (Brian) of Des Moines, Christina Eberhard (Chuck) of Goldfield, Mitchell Bliss (Alice) of Forest City, Cynthia Craig (Aaron) of Webster City, Cristal Gilbert (Cory) of Thor and Candace Fjetland (Dan) of Mason City; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; sister, Gail Finson (Delbert) of Mt. Sterling, IL and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with Rev. Cindy Morrison celebrating. Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
