Carol Corey, 79, of Fort Dodge, died Thursday May 3, 2018 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednes­day, May 9, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Interment will be held in Otho Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Carol A. Cater, the daughter of Forest and Alberta (Finner) Cater, was born January 5, 1939 in Grand Rapids, MN. She graduated from Deer River High School in 1956. On June 28, 1958, Carol was united in marriage to Howard Corey. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge and Carol was employed with Friendship Haven as an activity coordinator. Carol was a member of Otho United Methodist Church and later Trinity United Methodist Church. She taught music as Sunday school teacher, and taught dance and tap lessons. Carol was a 28 year member of A.A. and was a mentor to many throughout the years.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 60 years Howard, her daughters Kimberly Peart of Coalville, JoAnn Lennon of Duncombe, Shane Corey of Fort Dodge; her grandchildren, Nick Corey, Alexa (Chase) Eastwood, Ashley (Jory) Heinecke, Amanda Peart, Joshua (Katy) Peart, Karen (Josh) Hayes, Patrick Lennon, Stacy (Joel) Gannon, Joseph Lennon and Thomas Lennon; 8 great grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Patrick and Forest.
